What started off as a social media movement aimed at empowering women to become fitter, healthier and happier, has since developed into a fully fledged fitness community. Talitha Rye is one of three women behind the 27,000-strong Insta success that is Girl Gains. On the eve of International Women’s Day, I catch up with her to talk about girl boss inspiration, Ariana Grande and why you’ll never catch her drinking skinny tea.
First thing I do when I wake up: Jump in the shower to wake up!
My guilty pleasure is: Daily Mail online.
The quickest way to a flat stomach is: When I’m bloated, I love peppermint tea as a natural way to de-bloat and calm my gut.
One wellness trend you’ll never see me try: A Teatox/ skinny tea – if only it was that simple, right?
Day or night? Day.
If I didn’t work in the fitness industry, I’d be: An actress, hopefully in the West End.
I never make a smoothie without adding: Unsweetened almond milk – it’s my favourite!
The last time I cried was: Watching ‘The Help’ last weekend.
The motto I live by: Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard.
The tune that gets me pumped: Break Free – Ariana Grande.
Failsafe hangover cure: A big bowl of oats.
Can’t live without: My iPhone.
Top 3 London eats: Chipotle, Wahaca, Sticks n Sushi.
The woman who inspires me most is is: Claire Finlay from Transition Zone is a true #GirlBoss and a huge inspiration for us, as we would love to be in her position one day! On top of everything else she does, her level of organization is second to none.
